5 VOLT POWERED, MULTI-CHANNEL RS-232 INTERFACES
ST has introduced two new RS232 interface products: the ST232 and ST232A. They are 2-driver, 2-receiver devices, in compliance with EIA/ TIA-232 and V. 28 communication standards. Designed for those applications where ±12V is not available, they use a single +5V power supply and a dual charge pump that requires only four small external 0.1µF capacitors. The ST232, which presents a controlled output slew rate, is guaranteed to run at data rates of 120kbps while the ST232A runs at 200kbps.
