Geneva, October 9, 2002 - STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) one of the world's leading suppliers of Power MOSFETs, announced today that the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas has ruled in its favor in connection with a patent infringement lawsuit filed against it by Power Mosfet Technologies in August 1999. The ruling issued on September 30, 2002, finds that any product incorporating STMicroelectronics' MDmesh technology, including STMicroelectronics' family of MDmesh Power MOSFET devices, does not infringe United States Patent 5,216, 275.
