STMicroelectronics Receives Two of EDN Magazine's 2003 Innovation Of The Year Nominations

Geneva, February 6, 2004 - Two STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) products have been selected as finalists for this year's EDN Innovation Awards from among hundreds of nominations in a broad range of product categories. STMicroelectronics had its LIS3L02 3-Axis Accelerometer selected in the "Components" category and the RHFL4913 Rad-Hard Low-Dropout Regulator was selected in the "Power ICs" Category. EDN's Innovation of the Year awards program honors outstanding electronic products across a broad spectrum of original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and test products.

"We always get an outstanding set of entries to our Innovation program," said EDN Editor-in-Chief Maury Wright. "STMicroelectronics can be proud of EDN's selection of their products as finalists because many worthy products barely missed the cut. I look forward to presenting the awards to the winners at the awards banquet."

In the next few weeks, EDN's worldwide audience of electronics engineers and engineering managers will use an online ballot to select the ultimate winners from among these finalists. EDN's editorial staff and the EDN Editorial Advisory Board also take part in determining the final winners. We encourage you to visit www.edn.com and check out the February 5, 2004 issue to review each of the nominees. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on March 29, 2004 in San Francisco.
