Serial Real-Time Clocks
M41T82/83/93: next generation RTCs

The M41T83/93 and M41T82 serial real-time clocks are the next generation of timekeeping devices for the industry’s broadest portfolio. Fitting right in the middle of our current product offering, they feature a reset output and battery monitoring as well as a new function, analog calibration.

The M41T83 and M41T93 are the higher end of the new offering and include the choice of 400 kHz I²C (T83) or 10 MHz SPI (T93). The lower cost M41T82 employs 400 kHz I²C.

The greatest advance is the analog calibration feature pre-programmed at the factory. Available with the SOX18 embedded crystal package option, users can get pre-calibrated parts accurate to ±12 seconds per month (±5 ppm; at room temperature).

A second, non-volatile analog calibration register, is also included. This allows the user to program his own analog calibration value, either with the QFN package option, or to override the factory value in the SOX18 package. Adjustments made to the oscillator will immediately appear in the test output
giving users instantaneous feedback that the correction has taken effect.
