Serial Real-Time Clocks
How do they work?

We begin with our TIMEKEEPER® NVRAMs, reduce the amount of NVRAM to just a few bytes and modify the interface to one of the following standards:
Parallel Access Standalone RTCs
Serial RTCs
Most of our Serial RTCs incorporate the Battery Switchover and Write Protect circuits, plus many of our newer ones include microprocessor supervisory features such as Power-On Reset and Watchdog.

For applications not requiring back-up or needing only short duration back-up using a capacitor, we have two new low-cost Serial RTCs in the M41T0 and the M41T80.
