AN1714: ST7538 FSK POWER-LINE TRANSCEIVER DEMO-KIT DESCRIPTION

The ST7538 Power Line Transceiver incorporates a robust B-FSK modem with programmable baud rates up to 4800bps, an efficient Analog Front End and a differential Power Line Interface along with many added functions (5V linear voltage regulator, an uncommitted op-Amp, carrier and preamble detection, band in use and zero crossing detection) aimed to reduce part count and time to market even for highly specialized and sophisticated applications.

Its high versatility makes it suitable for many proprietary or open communication protocols, guaranteeing at the same time compliance with European (CENELEC) and North American (FCC) regulatory standards.

A new version has been recently introduced, the ST7538Q, which is 100% pin to pin compatible with the previous version and provides new selectable features increasing functionality.
