Platform Interfacing

The STLC2500 is built to interface with the latest application platforms, including ST's own Nomadik platform. Through ease of interface schemes, along with ST's one-stop-shopping product offering, device makers are able to build cost effective solutions that not only offer ultra-low power consumption, but also unsurpassed audio and video quality, easier application development and scalability for multiple market segments and future multimedia applications.

The STLC2500 supports open interfaces communication with third-party application processor solutions. This flexibility gives manufacturers the freedom to choose their own mix of processor solutions. Specifically, ST’s single chip Bluetooth® solution aids in interfacing with application processors by including a:

Programmable PCM interface for voice transport to Codec or mobile terminal baseband chip
UART with programmable speed for configuration / control and data transport
Digital low power clock used for power saving during silent Bluetooth® operations
Standard analog or digital system clock used during Bluetooth® operation
Sleep and wake up dedicated signals, but also via a UART protocol
Single power supply
IO connectivity to e.g. 1.8 and 2.75V platforms
GPIOs for general usage via HCI commands
WLAN coexistence communication channel
