Metal layer customization

The metal-layer process allows digital and analog functions to be customized.

The logic portion can be rerouted to obtain specific digital functions (such as interfaces or FSMs). The number of available gates depends on the already existing functions that remain unused in the customized product.

All existing analog functions can be configured and interconnected, including with the digital ones. In this way, you can obtain complex IPs or just a specific behavior or performance of an existing function.

Customization examples
To dedicate GPIOs to very-low-leakage/low-noise external signal measurement
To fix the function of GPIOs (for instance, the op amps immediately available after power up)
To change the serial interface protocol
To implement an auxiliary switching regulator control loop to drive external components
To access almost any input or output of the internal circuit
To dedicate GPIOs to a specific digital interface to directly access some functions
To implement voltage references through one or two GPIOs (up to 500 values are available)
To transform the SPI 4-wire interface into a 3-wire interface (only one in/out data pin)
To set a specific start up sequence or add a new sequence
To create IPs to interconnect the various functions
