 S.A.B.Re™
(structured architecture of bridges and regulators) is a configurable
and customizable mixed-signal IC for motion and power management.
The device includes many components (motor drivers, regulators,
high-precision A/D converters, operational amplifiers, and many
other digital or analog circuits), any of these may be reconfigured.
This flexibility allows designers to use the same chip for different
systems, just adapting the IC configuration: the power, the digital
and analog sections, and the power-up sequence can be configured
through the serial interface and GPIOs. A customized solution
is also possible through the metal-layer process, ideal for high-volumes.
S.A.B.Re replaces several components with a single device, reducing
the overall bill-of-material cost. If used as the power supply
manager, S.A.B.Re makes the system power-efficient, reducing consumption
down to the very-low-power state. This allows the system to meet
the requirements of energy-efficiency programs such as Energy
Star in the United States.
