Click for larger imageWith EVAL6229PD you`ll be able to evaluate the L6229 in PowerSO package when driving a three phase brushless DC motor with three (60 or 120 degrees spaced) hall-effect sensors. Screw connectors provide connection to motor supply rail and 5 V reference for the logic inputs, as well as the four outputs to motor windings. EVAL6229PD can be hooked-up to practiSPIN interface board (EVALpractiSPIN) through a 34-pin connector. The evaluation board can be run also in stand-alone mode: four on board switches are used to select direction of the rotation, enable and disable braking or choosing to run in torque or speed mode while a potentiometer sets the reference voltage provided to the Vref pin of the L6229 (in torque mode) or to the error amplifier, U2 (in speed mode); an external reference voltage can be provided by a PWM output of a µC.
EVAL6229PD can be used as well to evaluate the L6235PD product just adjusting pot settings.
