M48T212 Packaging The M48T212V is a combination Real-Time Clock and NVRAM Supervisor. It is intended for use in high-density, surface-mount NVRAM applications, and can also be used in applications requiring a standalone parallel access RTC. It can be easily connected to most microprocessors and microcontrollers, and its Watchdog Timer and Power-on Reset/Low-Voltage Detect Output can provide supervisor functions for the microprocessor.

The M48T212V is offered in our 44-lead SNAPHAT® SOIC, and offers the following features:
Parallel access (8-bit) with separate chip enable input dedicated to RTC
BCD Registers for Hours, Minutes, Seconds, Day, Date, Month, Year, and Century
Century Bits (Y2.1K compliant)
3.3V Operation - (Standby Current @2.5V: TTL = 3mA; CMOS = 2mA)
Programmable Alarm with Repeat Modes (functions in battery-backed mode)
Watchdog Timer with Programmable Time-out Period (64ms to 128s)
Calibration Register with Frequency Test Output - can be adjusted to within 2 seconds per month
Automatic Battery Switchover and Write Protect with:
 
– Vout pin that supplies an external LPSRAM

 Two chip enable outputs which provide power-fail write protection
Power-on Reset/Low-Voltage Detect Output
Two Reset Inputs - One for Push-button Reset
