M40Z300W Additional Technical Information

The M40Z300W is an NVRAM Supervisor which converts standard low power SRAMs into non-volatile memory. A precision voltage reference and comparator monitors the Vcc input for an out-of-tolerance condition. It is perfect for implementing high-density, battery-backed SRAMs for Server and RAID applications.

It can be easily connected to most microprocessors and microcontrollers, and its Power-on Reset/Low-Voltage Detect Output can provide supervisor functions for the microprocessor.

 
The M40Z300W is offered in our 28-lead SNAPHAT® or 16-lead SOIC, and offers the following features:
Four Chip-enable Outputs support connecting up to 4 banks or two LPSRAMs (8 LPSRAMs, total)
3.0V Operation
THS pin sets Power-fail Deselect Voltage:
 
2.6V for Vcc = 3.0V ± 10%

2.9V for Vcc = 3.3V ± 10%
Provides battery switchover and write-protect functions
Power-on Reset/Low Voltage Detect Output
Provides battery switchover and write-protect functions
Chip-enable propagation delay of less than 12ns
Battery Low pin for monitoring battery voltage
