TVS Crowbar ICs

Trisil™ ICs belong to the category of crowbar protection devices. They are a combination of various TVS crowbar diodes.
In normal operating conditions Trisils are high impedance devices and when a surge occurs the device is triggered and becomes a short circuit to divert the surge.
By operating in short circuit mode, Trisil ICs combine high surge capabilities, more complex topologies than TVS crowbar diode and small package size thanks to Planar technology...

They are used to protect circuits against electrical over stress (EOS) from telecommunication surge standards such as ITU-T K20/21, GR1089-Core, YDT695…
