Worldwide governments recognize smartcards as
the ideal solution to protect international security and to improve
interaction with citizens. In the areas of Health, National ID,
International Passports and Public Transport ticketing, major
programs are launched to upgrade the existing solutions with smartcard
technology. Smartcards offer Governments an optimal combination
of security, portability and user needs of governments and industry
